THE BELL STREET BREAKFAST CLUB

Open Monday to Friday for breakfast at the Abbey Primary School, St James – Flexible start times 7.45am or 8am

The Bell Street Breakfast Club offers breakfast daily and a range of activities for children aged 4 – 11 years.  We aim to provide a safe and secure environment where children are well cared for, enjoy a healthy breakfast before the busy school day starts and can enjoy making personal choices on their play and activities.

The Abbey School Breakfast Club is run and managed by Flying Start Nursery & Preschool. As qualified childcare professionals we work in close partnership with The Abbey Primary School to provide local families of the Abbey School with an extended childcare service.  Our Staff are present at all times to supervise the children and support them with their activities.

All staff are paediatric first aid trained and have a wealth of experience working with young children. All staff have undergone disclosure and barring police checks, trained to safeguard children and undergo strict recruitment checks to ensure they are suitable to work with children.   We carry full and current employer and public liability insurance.

On arriving at The Abbey School Breakfast Club, the breakfast bar is on offer to all the children until 8.25am. To promote independence the children are encouraged to make up their own breakfast with adult support available if required.  The Breakfast selection offered is healthy and nutritious and consists of a selection of toast, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, crackers, cheese and fruit juice.  A variety of morning activities are available including arts and crafts, puzzles, reading, construction, physical play and outdoor play (weather permitting).

What our parents say about our service…

“To whom it may concern,

I have used Flying Start for more than 3 years, firstly as day care & pre-school, then after-school collection & club, lastly as breakfast club.

I have always found them very helpful, open and honest. During this time, I have never had any cause for concern.

Everyone’s priority is the care and development of the children.

I would recommend them to anyone.”

Tracey

“I have used the breakfast and afterschool service for my daughter during her time at Abbey School, I have found this service very flexible around my working need and family commitments. My daughter has enjoyed attending and made lots of friends of all different ages which has helped her settle into school life. I would like to thank you all for your support over the years.”

 Suzanne.
