THE BELL STREET AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
Open Monday to Friday for after-school care at Bell Street from 3.30pm to 6.00pm – Flexible finish times 4pm, 5pm or 6pm
The Bell Street After-school Club offers a range of activities for children aged 4 – 11 years. We aim to provide a safe and secure environment where children are well cared for and can enjoy making personal choices on their play and activities.
After enjoying a walk from Abbey School in St James along Park Walk or up the historic Gold Hill, on arriving at Bell Street children are offered time to talk about their school day and to rest and relax with their peers. A healthy snack and drink is provided by the club which usually consists of fruit, cheese, crackers, toast, bagels, crumpets or children are encouraged to make themselves a sandwich choosing from a range of fillings.
Following refreshments children can enjoy a range of activities from gardening in the spring/summer, arts and crafts and cookery. If they choose to relax with a good book then this is fine too. In the better weather the children at the club often enjoy a trip to the local park at St James on their way back up the hill and sometimes have a little picnic there too.
Our Routine
3.50pm – 3.55pm – Arrive at the club, Children sign in themselves
4.00pm – Register and group time
4.05pm – 4.30pm – Cafe style tea-time and Activity time
5.00pm – 6.00pm – Free-time to play & relax and home time
During every session children have access to lots of board-games, books, card games, construction sets such as Lego, lots of art materials such as paints, clay, paper, card, glue, scissors, junk modelling and collage materials.
